MoviesHad I not been a professor I'd have been a professional movie watcher I believe (if there's one such)! This avid-watching habit started early from my childhood due to the movie frenzy in the South of India where I grew up in. And later continued with discovering a whole new world of Hollywood movies during undergrad when I finally got a laptop. After digesting enough of IMDB Top 250 and running out of options, I slowly shifted my exploration towards foregin language ones and what a discovery it was. For me, what initially began as a means of entertainment to merely do some time pass has started turning out into something more profound and deep, and with time I began to appreciate movies as a means of communication that filmmakers use to convey a spectrum of messages and make the audience think and introspect themselves even after one leaves the cinema theatre. In particular, I like most the movies that explore themes that are central to human behaviour, exploring its beautiful multitudes and inherent ambiguities. The following is a list of some of the best movies across multiple languages that I have watched till date which might be of use for any potential movie lover like me.
